Assassins Creed: Brotherhood Action Figure Review – Ezio Auditore da Firenze
Of all the video games I’ve played, Assassins Creed 2 & AC: Brotherhood are definitely favorites of mine. The graphics in these games are absolutely incredible, and the story is deep and intriguing. I’ve been looking to start a collection of action figures, so you can imagine my excitement at finding a “Gamestars Collectibles” Ezio Auditore figure for $7.99 at Target.

For the price ($7.99) this action figure is very good. The packaging is branded with fantastic character illustrations, and on the back is a mini-bio of Ezio and images of the other characters in the action figure series: Cesare Borgia, Leonardo da Vinci, Niccolo Machiavelli, the Doctor, and the Harlequin.
The detailing on the figure is surprisingly well done, and Ezio’s armor is accurate enough to be used as a costume reference. The majority of Ezio’s outfit is made of a soft plastic material, but “loose” aspects of the costume (such as the cape) are not flimsy. The “metal” armor really looks like it came out of the game. For a costume as seemingly intricate as Ezio’s, I’m glad the manufacturer didn’t skimp on the details.
The figure also comes with interchangeable hands and a sword. The sword is very flimsy, and was a bit bent when it came out of the box. My biggest frustration with the figure is how hard the interchangeable hands are to switch out. The hidden blades in Ezio’s first pair of hands are flimsy just like the sword, and when struggling to put the hands back onto the figure, they bend a little. However, unlike the sword, the hidden blades go right back into place very easily and still look as good as they did when they came out of the box. The other problem I had when using the interchangeable hands was the paint on them. Bits of white paint started to rub off when I was using them. It didn’t really hurt the figure, it’s just disappointing that playing with the interchangeable hands is so difficult!
The good news with the interchangeable hands is that after using them a few times they start to become less troublesome. However, even with its faults, I still really love this action figure. I plan to collect the rest in the series, and I would suggest this figure to any fan of the Assassins Creed video games. And with the price being only $8, it’s a hard bargain to pass up.
